Crete with baby at Grecotel White Palace Greece

Crete with baby and children ticks so many boxes for great family-friendly holidays and luxury lovers.Zenbabytravel visited Crete first time in 2005 with Greek friends and fell in love: over the years we explored Heraklion with its stunning Byzantine churches, Venetian wall and harbour fortress; the famous Knossos with the Minotaurus legends, residential Ierapetra, picturesque Rethymnon, enchanting Agios Nikolaos and stunning Elounda. Crete with baby and friends at Grecotel White Palace Greece has been delightful, from the sleek suite to exploring Rethymnon nearby.

Crete with baby - Crete family resorts

We stayed in a sleek suite with seaview at Grecotel White Palace Greece , handy layout for families, with a separate living and bedroom area separated by sliding doors.

Best places to stay in Crete with toddlerPerfect for a baby used to sleep in his own room and parents to enjoy grown up time over cocktails and movies. Another funky feature was a separate shower cubicle in the bedroom, just next to the hanging rails – chic and practical.

The suite was also just by the second swimming pool, an adults mostly infinity pool, so often baby naps time, I would just pop out for a 20 minutes and swim in peace.

One other feature we appreciated were Grecotel common areas – bare and mostly white and turquoise – joy to the eyes and perfect to chill. Wide relaxation area outside and inside just above the  main restaurant plus another bar with areas overlooking the beach – 1 level up for guests not willing to muddle in the sand.crete family resorts: Grecotel White Palace Greece

The sea is crystal clear and calm, the beach has few pebbles, so overall very baby and toddler friendly.

The restaurant got rather busy lunch and early dinners, with the maitre running around to please the guests. Buffets were nice, tones of Greek specialities and fresh fish, fruit and vegetables in abundance.

As we expected, plenty of parents with babies but also some couples only, a mix of Europeans and few Russians. Wifi working okish, though a bit problematic when walking around. The kids & grown ups pool, as expected, very popular.best crete family resorts : Grecotel White Palace

Rethymnon is 20 minutes away,  we spent one afternoon walking around the cobbled streets,  the fortress and the port – lots of nice restaurants including baby playing areas. Nice touch for parents wishing for a grown up dinner and a short break from entertaining the small ones!

Having visited Crete extensively, we can say this is one great stay in Crete with baby. Agios Nikolaos and Elounda remain though our favourites, do check our article on Daios Cove and blissful Leading Hotels of the World Elounda Beach Hotel & Villas

Yes Crete all lovely, we tested it on few occasions including pre baby, also recommending warmly Elounda (the southern side, close to Agios Nikolaos).

    Hello,
How is the kids club in the hotel?
Does it have enough activities and games?
How about kids shows at night, mini disco..
If you have photos that’s will be great!!!
