Babymoon Australia turned out to be fantastic. Another beautiful surprise from our Melbourne Airbnb host was putting us in touch with a friend of hers with an amazing house on the Great Ocean Road.
So one Saturday morning we drove into the Australian wilderness, washing our eyes with miles of deserted beaches and stunning landscapes. The coast on one side, arid landscapes on the other and later on into our trip, green valleys and mountains.
The restaurants and entertainment options felt rather scarce. For few days we retrieved ourselves in this magic house on the hills. We also discovered a couple villages and the iconic 12 Apostles.
The Apostles felt quite touristy, with hordes of buses and keen photographers, Asian and European alike. We did explore though some less crowded beaches nearby, the views still amazing but requiring some effort to go up and down hills and stairs.
We also explored randomly the coast, stopped to take pictures of koalas in trees by the road, the seaweed and rock formations, some villages and little towns and their food options.
After few days & 1,000 miles of driving around the coast, we hopped on a plane and headed back to the Urban life – Sydney this time around. Some great memories & landscapes – along with Kangaroo Island, the Great Ocean Road is definitely a place I’d love to return with all my boys !
