Algarve with kids – Vila Vita Parc Portugal

We love Portugal and when our friends raved so extensively about Vila Vita Parc Portugal, we jumped to have an article on Algarve with kids. They went there for the first time October – an unreal 28 degrees temperature, a very gentle breeze and loads of sun sun sun!

Our friends travelled with their 18 months by plane with British Airlines from Gatwick to Faro (a 2hrs flight). They have rented a car (booked with Europcar in advance – make sure you ask for a baby seat too) directly from the airport (30 mins of waiting roughly).  Almost the entire trip to the resort is on the highway and the road signs are present – almost impossible to get lost (road trip of 40 min to reach your destination – the wonderful Vila Vita Parc Portugal).  The resort itself – luxurious! The personnel – they could not ask for more. A truly 5 star hotel, belonging to Leading Hotels of the World. Such a lovely and attentive service comes with a price – but it really depends on the package – there is something for everyone plus one fair balance which reflects the services offered.

To start with the kids facilities – the hotel provides nannies and a fully equipped kindergarden !!!! Yes, a kindergarden fully dedicated for the kids in the resort. You can leave your little one there for a 12 euros / hour fee while you enjoy a well-deserved spa treatment (or, if you prefer, you can stay with your baby too at no extra cost). There is also a huge outside playing area – you won’t get bored (I mean, your child J ). They even have a sleeping room (6 cribs) – if you have a 2/6 month old baby you can let it there for a nap in the afternoon. They tested also the inside and outside pools  – just perfect!

Dining – 8 restaurants in the resort (most of them with special “kids menu” also which can be served in the playing area or at the swimming pool) and 1 restaurant with a Michelin star awarded. There are some restaurants for adults only and they had a nanny for 2 hours and we enjoyed a fabulous dinner. No buffet except the morning one, all restaurants serve a la carte. The resort own and manage also 2 restaurants outside the resort and they offer transport there, so convenient. One of them is on the beach (it was sooo good) and one in the city outskirts ( Austrian flavours).

Rooms: our friends had a Deluxe double room which was great: very spacious, 1 bedroom with en-suite large bathroom, a small living room area and a nice terrace. Wifi at no extra cost also.

The beach – superb! A wild and deserted (it was October afterall) beautiful beach,  cannot tell if they provide towels or something else because as nobody expected such a good weather, I did not see the bar opened nor the chaise longs.

Cons Very difficult to pick up anything for the “cons” for Algarve with kids and Vila Vita Parc Hotel – it was such a nice, pleasant holiday, my son had a wonderful time and so did we. Strongly recommend !
