Travelling with a baby
50 minutes drive from London busy scene, Coworth Park gardens are a green oasis of calm. Sculptures are spread around the property, bringing arty dreamy vibes to the picturesque parkland. Quintessentially English and pastoral, the parkland is also a prime attraction for polo and croquet, royal family included.
And when our friends organised a gorgeous birthday for their son, we decided it was a good opportunity to arrive earlier with our 2 cheeky monkeys, explore the grounds and the beautiful 17th century mansion and indulge in a sunny lunch.
The plan worked to perfection, our kids (born natural explorers) wondered and ran around the lake with ducks and ducklings, flowers, plants and pretty fountains. A very young man had his early lunch and thereafter settled for his afternoon nap, leaving us to enjoy the conversations & sun over glasses of Sancerre, steak and salads. The other young man loved Coworth terrace and the fish & chips, but unsurprisingly rushed to the kids club as soon as the party started.
We joined our friends for glamorous tea and champagne, lovely afternoon parents catching up and indulging in child free time and the gorgeous goodies. The drawing room and the conservatory are so glamorous, we even got to enjoy the resident pianist.
The kids must have had the times of their lives (we judge from pictures!) treasure hunting, tshirt painting, cake baking etc kidsclub & around. We joined them for cake and Spiderman pictures after many bubbles – this has been one delightfully Zen 4 years birthday party.
Will be back soon for horse riding and more lunching and wining, Coworth Park is truly a gem.
