Bricklive Christmas edition- Lego blast at Saatchi Galleries

Bricklive Christmas edition is on at Saatchi Gallery 2nd floor until January 7th 2018  – to the delight of so many kiddies, Lego fans and Starwars addicts. Saatchi gallery kept us for years on top of our toes, entertained and intellectually challenged. And this December, we are in for interactive arty crafty lego treats.

We went Saturday 1pm session – my 4 years old and 5 years old friend loved it. The show is split across four zones, the Christmas Zone, the Creative Zone, Minecraft and Star Wars and each  zone offers a different experience in building and creating.

The space is huge and felt chilled and fun . We spent a lot of time in the Creative zone where the boys raced their own lego built cars, wrote their names in lego on the 24 metre graffiti wall, got Lego prize cups, dived into a green sea of lego.Star Wars characters are walking around for very cool encounters. As ahead of the release for Star Wars – The Last Jedi this December, one can take a trip through time with a historical display of previous official LEGO® Star Wars sets, including a never before seen six-foot long super star destroyer fleet.

There’s also lots of festive characters: life size Lego built Santa and cute Christmas messages. And promising another LEGO® favourite, the Minecraft zone allows kiddies or grown ups to create their own models and play Minecraft games on consoles.

2 hours sessions felt very short for our boys. And since then I have been literally asked to go back to BrickLive every day!

We wrapped up the day with Saatchi contemporary art and the intriguing Art Riot: Post-Soviet Actionism exhibition. One should be ready to answer their 4 years old why there’s hay in the galleries and televisions feature naked men flying out of their windows on wires. The exhibition features 3 of the most interesting, controversial and contemporary Russian artists.

If not prepared for that, just head out to the lovely Duke of York so festively decorated and/ or the Christmas market next door. Bricklive is cool, it’s geeky, it’s art and crafty. It’s visionary and Star wars legendary. We loved it and warmly recommending – grab your tickets here!

This looks brilliant! My little boy (and my husband!) would absolutely love this! I can definitely see why 2 hours wouldn’t feel like long enough #KCACOLS

This sounds really fun – some of the recent Lego events seem targeted at much older kids and adults (Lego is pretty appealing at any age) but I think this would go down well with my daughter. Thanks for linking up with #citytripping

I do like it when they put on exhibitions specially for kids at art galleries – they are so much fun for the adults too!

I know, on this one there were few adults having as much fun as the kiddies 😉
