One has many former lives – professionally included. About 16 years ago, I was Product Manager for an automotive brand. For almost 4 years, I was quite absorbed by automotive scene and latest technologies, European trends, pricing and products. So when I have seen Ferrari under the skin exhibition at our favourite museum in the hood aka Design Museum Kensington; I jumped with joy and quickly been in touch for tickets.
The story is a classic and well known – right after the Second World War, Enzo Ferrari and a small team in Italy decided to create the perfect racing machine. Ferrari under the skin exposes lots about Ferrari’s powerful personality, the design and manufacturing process, the famous clientele and the future of the luxury car brand.
My friend who joined me for the ride with his 4 years old daughter was pointing out which one he drove and which race he attended. From the very first Ferrari to Michael Schumacher’s winning Formula One car and the newest hybrid model, the exhibition features amazing cars and memorabilia.
We ended up our day trip with another visit at Designer User Maker permanent exhibition and the Family Room – my eldest knows by now Design Museum Kensington’s permanent collections inside out!
Warmly recommended and very impressive! Ferrari under the skin runs until April 2018 and I am hoping for another visit without very enthusiastic 4 years olds.
Disclaimer: Many thanks to The Design Museum for complimentary passes. Impressions, photos and one over excited 4 years old my own.
