France may be off the travel corridor and looking improbable in terms of reach at the moment but French lessons for kids in London and online are NOT! A certain 7 years old has been super lucky to be hosted for October half term holiday camp by Club Petit Pierrot, London’s premier French Club for children and had a blast.
Best French lessons for kids in London and online with Club Petit Pierrot
Making French fun from 8 months olds to 8 years olds comes natural to these talented ladies. And whilst second lockdown has been announced after-school lessons and advanced classes for bilingual children, Saturdays are still continuing online and December Holiday Clubs are still pencilled in and can be booked.
Club Petit Pierrot lessons are totally in French and give kids an excellent headstart: songs, rhymes, dancing, arts & crafts, cooking, puppets, you name it. The groups are small, the results are excellent, the French teachers are native and all DBS checked, plus passionate about teaching French to young children.
We found them creative and warm, no wonder they come highly recommended by BBC, Daily Telegraph, Daily Express, Time Out and Angels & Urchins magazine. There’s also private tuition at home and online, and teaching their creative immersion programme in many great schools across London.
One week highlights for the 7 years old were the variety of games in French, drawing, yoga, all Halloween activities involving wizards, witches and pumpkins.
Benefits of learning French for kids ? Studies have shown repeatedly that foreign language learning increases critical thinking skills, creativity, problem-solving skills and flexibility of mind in young children. French is the second most widely learned language after English, the sixth most widely spoken language in the world with 80 million speakers as first language.
But stats and benefits aside, French for us is the language of great food, culture, travel, wine, fashion, art. Having lived, studied and worked in France, I became a hopeless Francophile in love with France for the last 20 years. So no wonder our kids got to know and love France from very early ages – Paris, Provence, Bordeaux, Dordogne, skiing in Tignes, Chamonix and Courchevel every time fully immersed with ESF! We also love French speaking territories such as Morrocco, Switzerland and Seychelles to mention just few and French comes super handy for kids clubs and getting to know properly the locals.
We will certainly head back to Club Petit Pierrot French lessons for kids in London, fingers crossed for more holiday camps in person soon ! The benefits of learning French for kids are crystal clear and similarly crystal clear is that Club Petit Pierrot makes the learning so much more fun and engaging. A très bientôt !
