June events to be excited about (in London)

June weather in London is quite stubborn & appalling (again). But so is my denial. Presumably those strong winds and heavy showers will go away at some point, leaving us all to enjoy our glorious city and its multitude of events.

There’s lots of great stuff this month in London but the events we are truly excited about and on our RSVP radar are in here.

Polo in the Park. June 9th -11th, get your regular or VIP tickets for a treat. Not just the polo to get excited about though, but champagne in the gardens, Mahiki hosting in the VIP area, food from our favourite restaurants like Kiru as well as casual street nibbles. For parents with kids like us, Sunday is THE day, lots of activities to allure and keep busy. Hosted by Eddie Catz, the Kids Club will be open on Sunday 11 June with lots of bouncy castles, obstacle courses and soft play. Sharky and George will also be hosting endless games on the Sunday morning, such as Sharks and Lifeguards, Sharky’s footsteps, musical bumps, face painting and strawberry bootlace eating world champs.

Holland Park Opera. Friends got me invited to La rondini of Puccini this week and I suspect I will take the usual blanket, boots and bubbles to truly enjoy June British weather and opera outdoors. It is a favourite of ours for years now despite capricious British weather. For the kids, this year again there’s Alice in Wonderland, a truly amazing performance that we also enjoyed in the past years.

Kensington summer fete at St Mary Abbots where I am volunteering as usual. Carnival themed this year, in the lovely Vicarage gate, come by to be spoilt with cakes, prizes and bouncy castles. June 17th, 11am -3:30pm.

Same June 17/18th weekend there’s also the Open garden square weekend and we are sooo loking forward to discover some private gardens, gems and rooftops. Lots of kids activities also to be spoilt with, opportunities to explore and be enchanted.

Happy June to you all!
