Cultured Kids London May 2022: #73 Linkie

Welcome back Cultured Kids and hello half term May ! Hoping you are enjoying the sunshine, the parks blooming, culture and travel vigorously back on the menu! May in London is a feast , Chelsea Flower show spoils as usual, Kings road is a delight and so is Belgravia and Sloane Square! We are also very looking forward the Jubilee long weekend – so many reasons to celebrate and join us!

May 2022 has been a packed month, between National Trust outings with bluebells, vineyards, London exhibitions and restaurants, Ibiza parties, Medieval festival and beach bars! Cultured Kids favourite current exhibition? We love Kew Gardens any time of the year, but spring is magical plus Australian artist Tanya Schultz/ aka Pip & Pop lures with pastel dreaming flowers, mythology and folklore melt into a candy land! For more flowers and talks head at the Chelsea Barracks Spring Fair, Chelsea Flower Show or spontaneously and unticketed around Belgravia or Chelsea in Bloom.

And if you overdosed on pastels and flowers and looking to balance, we loved Fashioning Masculinities at V&A; pair it with a sunny day for the kids to splash in the paddling pools and all parties will be thrilled. We have even brought our sushi picnic from Sushi Shop next door but of course V&A has some healthy salad options, yum cakes and beer for long summer days!

What else we love end of May and June? Music wise Mathhew Bourne’s CarMan cought our eyes and hopeful to see at RAH! There is the usual Holland Park summer opera we are very looking forward, including Carmen for families, 4 sessions looking very appealing, we are looking forward to! Also there’s Marleybone Music Festival coming in June and looking brilliant!

And with the social scene finally back with a joyous vengeance, May party season started wildly with 8 gorgeous rooftop at the Londoner, decadent izakaya and fine cocktails. We carried on with delicate and beautiful food at Core by Clare Smyth, surely up to the hype and 3 Michelin stars but not sure next I will be 1 year patient again to get a table and a booking! The terrace at Mandarin Oriental no longer serves Heston’s food, that was just a privilege of lockdown but the team is lovely and lobster salad and fish very enjoyable over bubbles and a sunny day. Instagram account still disactivated sadly for the same illogical reasons and no human to talk to (sorry again for offending all with our friends 3 years old without a bra!) – so just twitter, facebook and blog for now!

We loved reading all the articles linked on the last #CulturedKids and hearing from you all! My lovely partner in crime Vyki Museum Mum favourites have been London with teens and Prem castle in Slovenia – many congrats!

How is May 2022 treating you and what are your half term plans? This is the perfect month to head to ParisProvence, Portugal, Puglia or Ischia, Ibiza or Menorca and finally with the C-tests gone, the world of travel feels back to its lovely usual fun, BAU and culture!
