One of London’s most picturesque ice rinks has returned for the autumn and winter of 2021 to the grounds of Royal Museums Greenwich, yay! UNESCO World Heritage site with glittering Canary Wharf in the background, Queens House Greenwich Ice Rink is atmospheric, royal and fun!
The 8 years old adored wizzing around with my hand, whilst the 5 years old was in great company with a penguin and mostly his father. The music is fun and Queens House Ice Rink size is perfect and far from South Kensington or West end touristy crowds, even Saturday midday slots !
Surrounded by England’s finest piece of seventeenth-century Palladian architecture and by gorgeous Greenwich Park, we found in here some of the best views in London. For a great cultural outing combine it with Queens House, Maritime Museum or Cutty Sark, our kids love them all.
The only outdoor ice rink in South London, Greenwich Ice Rink is open every day (apart from Christmas Day) until January 9th 2022. Sessions run from 10am-9pm on peak days and 11am-9pm off peak and last for 45 minutes, we found the session going in a blink!
For lunch or early dinner there’s a Sticks & Sushi 4 minutes walking distance from Queens House, coming from the sushi addicted family, one won’t be surprised about the choice! For more winter family fun and London with toddlers in winter, check our article on Christmas in London with kids. For more ice skating open all year around, head to our dedicated post on funky Queens Skate Bowl Dine, more royal iceskating at Hampton Court Palace or stunning Alexandra Palace Ice Rink. All of them are totally feasible for ice skating with toddlers, penguins and seals are there to help!
PS: Many thanks to Queens House Greenwich Ice Rink for the invite! As usual, pics, impressions and cheeky kids entirely ours.
